Considering that the Finals should have been held back on March 13 - all these delays have had a considerable effect of the Club's ability to field their full strength teams. Unavailability of key players and more recently a confirmed case of Covid 19 have made team selections difficult for the delayed Finals.
The finalists in Division 2 were, Muree who have been regular finalists and Hawks Nest who have been absent from Finals for a few years - but who in recent years are showing considerable improvements.
The final resulted in a draw 3 - 3. Under the Rules - each team would then select a player and they would play sudden death matchplay until a result is achieved. Unfortunately, fading light made it impossible to conduct this playoff today.
Despite considering chip offs or putting competitions to determine a result today - it was decided to conduct an 18 hole matchplay playoff between a player selected by each Club. This playoff is scheduled to take place at Pacific Dunes GC on Sunday May 1 at 11.00am
UPDATE - Without proceeding to the playoff - Hawks Nest and Muree have been declared joint winners of the Division 2 Pennant for 2022.
The Division 1 saw Newcastle GC continue on their winning ways - accounting for Charlestown 7 to 1 Newcastle have now won the trifecta with wins in the last 3 years
