The weather continues to be a problem of late – and our Clubs are struggling to present a course suitable to play golf.
As a consequence, the NDGA has had another look at the conduct of the B&C Pennants, currently underway.
Round 1 last Sunday saw the B grade South matches cancelled when Viney Creek was not open and the C grade South matches proceeded in difficult conditions at Merewether.
North division matchers were not as affected as those of the South.
There has been further rain this week – and more forecast right up to and including the weekend.
This Sunday – Round 2 - we have the following changes. Viney Creek is still closed – consequently, C Grade South matches have been cancelled and points shared. Please notify your affected team managers and players.
Our guidelines this year states that if the course is open – then play is on.
The NDGA Match Committee proposes to alter the Conditions of Play to allow.
Rule 7 will be varied to allow Clubs to mutually agree not to play and their matches to be drawn with shared points
Should either team want to play – then provided the Course is open – then the match will proceed.
This variation will be in effect for Round 2 (Jul 24) and Round 3 (Jul 31). This variation will apply to all Venues and both Divisions – in fairness to all.
The NDGA will then re-evaluate for the ongoing Rounds
To facilitate - each Club should indicate their preference for each Round by contacting Secretary-NDGA who will compile the responses and adjust the draw accordingly.
I will endeavour to notify any affected Clubs of a major change or cancellation as early as I can – to allow the Club to adjust their timesheet. I know this is not ideal – but we find ourselves in difficult times.
