The 2023 A Grade Pennants continued with Week 6 on Sunday February 27
This week saw Division 1 play their 6th rounds - whilst Division 2 and Division 3 played their 5th and penultipate Rounds.
Division 1 saw Merewether record a close win over Belmont. This game was the first that tried the playing pennants on Saturday afternoon option.
Division 1 also saw Newcastle record aa emphatic win over Charlestown.
Division 2 saw a good win to Waratah, away to Hawks Nest - and this cemented their place as the leader of this division and winner of the Division 2 Pennant - regardless of results next week. This will see Waratah promoted to Division 1 next year.
In the other Division 2 game - home team, Shortland Waters recorded a good win over the Muree team. Unfortunately, regardless of results next week, both Shortland Waters and Muree are destined for relegation to Division 3 in 2024.
In Division 3 - Nelson Bay, at home, recorded an emphatic win over arch rivals Pacific Dunes - and are now in the box seat - to claim the Division 3 Pennant - even if both teams win next week in the last round.
Horizons recorded their first win in A Grade Pennants - with a good win at home over Tanilba Bay.
Congratulations Horizons
