The 2023 Zone 2 Regional Champs were held at Muswellbrook GC on Sat/Sun Aug 12/13

We are the last of the old Zone in NSW to be still holding these Regional Champs

There was a total of 113 Starters - comprising Teams of 21 from CCDGA, HRDGA, LNCDGA and NDGA plus some freelancers

Each team had 5 x Seniors/Masters – 4 scores to count ,   5 x Juniors – 4 scores to count.  ,  11 x Opens. – 9 scores to count

Weather – Sat – breezy.     Sun – Light showers and drizzle

In the team event – for Jim Baker Shield – NDGA led by 27 strokes after Sat. - then finished 29 strokes ahead of CCDGA to win the Teams event.

Congratulations to all of the winners - particularly those from the NDGA

David Alexander is the overall Regional Champion with a 1 under par score

Jye Picken shot 4 under on Sun in round 2 to finish 3^rd.overall

Jayden Butler – Toronto – won the Regional Junior – with 8 over par.    Great effort that.

Jordyn Ward – Charlestown – in a countback with Oscar Gilson – won the prize for best Scratch score for 2^nd Round – with 71

Overall - the NDGA won the Jim Baker Shield team trophy – won the Opens – won the Juniors – close 3^rd in the Seniors
