The Annual match against the Central Coast DGA was held at Shelly Beach GC on Saturday/Sunday June 3/4, 2023   The weather was perfect for the Saturday Fourballs - but turned chilly on Sunday for the singles.

This inter-district match plays for the Artie Mollett Shield.and is usually a close contest between the 2 District Rep Teams.   This year was an exception.

Each team consists of 6 x Seniors and  6 x Juniors

This year we saw the Central Coast team record a clear win - by 6 points.

The Saturday Fourballs - each team consisting of 1 Senior and 1 Junior - saw Newcastle leading by 3.5 to 2.5

In the Singles on Sunday - the Seniors from the Central Coast squared the score by prevailing 3.5 to 2.5.    But it was in the Juniors that the result was decided - with the Central Coast boys winning all 6 matches.

The final score was Central Coast 12 to Newcastle 6.

The history on the trophy reveals that the Central Coast are infrequent winners - and this was the first time that they have gone back to back since 1980.

The Central Coast DGA were the perfect hosts and a good weekend was had by all.
