The Annual match against the Central Coast DGA was held at Toronto GC on Sunday June 19, 2022.   The weather was a bit ordinary with intermittent showers.

This inter-district match plays for the Artie Mollett Shield.and is usually a close contest between the 2 District Rep Teams.   This year was no exception.

Each team consists of 6 x Seniors,  4 x Colts and 6 x Juniors

In a very close contest this year we saw the Central Coast team record a close win - by one point.

The Seniors shared the spoils 3 / 3 with wins to Tommy De Wit, Ben Hillard and Jordyn Ward.

The Colts put Newcastle in the lead winning their division by a point 2.5 / 1.5 - with wins to Oscar Gilson and Bryce Pickin

The Juniors, containing 3 first times, with 2 playing matchplay for the first time - could not match it with their counterparts from the Central Coast and lost their Division by 4 / 2.     The winners for Newcastle were Brij Ingrey and Jesse Linden

One of the best matches was between Newcastle's 11 year old Jesse Linden and 12 year old ( birthday yesterday) Blake Cranston from Central Coast.      The match was of a high standard and see-sawed all day before Jesse won the last hole for the win.
