The 2022 NDGA District Championships were held for A, B and C grades at Nelson Bay GC on Sunday November 27.

The weather was co-operative with a typical Spring day, with light winds and warm temperatures.

Congratulations and thanks to Nelson Bay GC Greens, Pro Shop and Club staff for their assistance with the day.   The course presentation was the best seen by many in many years.

120 players took part - with 54 in A grade - 47 in B grade - 19 in C grade

The A Grade Championship was held on Holes 1-18 from the Black tee markers.

Congratulations to our District Champion for 2022 - Tom De Wit from Newcastle GC with a 2 under score of 70.    A close 2nd was David Fahey from Newcastle GC with 71.

The Junior District Champion was local Nelson Bay junior - Lachlan Lawson - with a 3 over 75

The Senior District Champion was Waratah veteran - Ron Smith - with 82

Tom De Wit and Lachlan Lawson both also won their respective Champion of Champions event that was conducted in conjunction..

The B&C Grade Championships were held on Holes 10-27 from the Blue tees.

In B grade we congratulate our 2022 District Champion - David Owens, Nelson Bay - with 83 - to win on a count back from Waratah's Mark Ryan

The B grade Champion of Champions event was a very close affair - with a 3 level count back required to seperate both Club Champions on 88.

Congratulation to Belmont's Stephen Brown - our 2022 B grade Champion of Champions.

Congratulations to our 2022 C grade District Champion - Michael Trigas from Nelson Bay with 89 - From Nelson Bay's Robert Connor on 91.

In C grade we saw 5 club champions contest the Champion of Champions event - with the winner beingMichael Trigas from Nelson Bay with a score of 89 - to win on a count back from Neil Lembke
