The annual match against the Hunter River DGA was scheduled for July earlier this year - after not being played since 2019 due to mainly COVID related reasons.

The match in July had to be rescheduled to the only weekend available in 2022 - the week before Christmas - due to the exceptionally wet weather and the adverse impact it had on all of our Courses - particularly Paterson GC.

We finally got the match underway at Paterson GC on an overcast, showery and cool day.

Another extremely close contest - 7 matches going to the 18^th hole, with the final result being 6 matches each.

Scores were 3 matches each in both seniors and juniors.

Paterson proved to be an ideal venue - with small smooth bent greens - interesting course layout - and the usual country hospitality.

Congratulations and thanks to the Paterson volunteers that really looked after us.

And thanks to the Hunter River boys for yet another close contest - played in the usual good spirits.

The Draw means that Newcastle DGA retains the P.R. West trophy for yet another year.
